La Ceiba Bilingual School is a bilingual (English/Spanish) school located in La Ceiba, Honduras. Like many bilingual schools in Honduras it follows the US school-year (fall to spring). It is the second oldest bilingual school in the city (Mazapan School being the first). It is located in El Sauce Neighborhood.
As opposed to various bilingual schools in the city that follow the United States school system, CBS (as it is affectionately called by students, teachers, and alumni) follows a traditional Honduran school system, with grades 1 - 11. As well as pre-school education starting with daycare or nursery. This school is rich in tradition
Since the beginning it has been a family run institution. Sandra Payne, the school's founder, was the first principal. Suyapa de Hyde, Ms. Payne's daughter and a CBS alumna, is the current principal.
